FDA announce 3 month extension to compliance deadlines

Yesterday the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) announced a 3 month extension to many of the deadlines imposed under the emerging regulations for e-cigarettes.

For many companies the extension will provide an additional opportunity to plan their PMTA applications and a gives little potential breathing space. However, as we have previously suggested, these were already very tight deadlines for things such as stability research and testing, with an industry challenged on resource and expertise when it comes to providing these services. Regardless of the three months’ extension, the timings are still a challenge for most.
