The San Francisco Board of Supervisors has this week unanimously approved a measure to ban the sale of flavoured tobacco products, which includes e-cigarettes. The new rule will be signed into law and is likely to come into effect in April 2018.
San Francisco will become the first city in the US to impose such a ban, which will apply to all e-liquid flavours apart from tobacco.
Vanessa Marvin, Vice President, Public Policy and Advocacy for the American Lung Association in California, commented “Ending the sale of menthol and other flavored tobacco products and e-cigarettes will reduce teen use and ultimately save lives.”
