Originally founded by industry pioneers David Newns and Chris Lord, Nerudia is now part of Fontem Ventures, an innovative consumer goods company in the Imperial Brands PLC portfolio.
David and Chris have been involved in the electronic cigarette industry since 2008 when they founded CN Creative and developed the Intellicig brand.
David, who was identified in the ‘Top 50 Young Entrepreneurs to Watch’ in 2009, has been in the Nicotine Products industry since 2008 when he built the CN Creative business with his business partner Chris Lord. Together they co-founded Nerudia in 2013; a business that will be seen as the world's leading authority on nicotine products and next generation products for e-cigarettes.
David has brought his and Chris’s vision and strategy for Nerudia to life. He has achieved this by building a world-class team of scientists and operational and commercial managers. This enables Nerudia to support its customers to achieve their growth plans in this rapidly expanding global market. David’s entrepreneurial spirit is a fundamental driver of the development of the Nerudia brand and businesses which have quickly achieved international status.
Chris has twenty years' experience in the medical device industry designing innovative engineering solutions. At CN Creative he was fundamental in developing Nicadex which was awarded a CE mark in December 2012, and became the world’s first medically approved e-cigarette under the e-voke brand in 2015.
As the co-founder of Nerudia, Chris’s development of innovative products and processes brings another unique layer to the Nerudia business. Original in his thinking, he is seen as naturally innovative and skilled at bringing multi-disciplinary teams together.
Tim first worked with Chris and David at CN Creative, joining them as Chief Finance Officer in 2011 to assist in the company’s growth and prepare for acquisition. After the company was acquired he stayed for a further two years as CFO of Nicoventures Trading UK and Eire.
Having worked at the highest level within major corporations such as Mytravel plc and ITV plc, as well as a number of SMEs, Tim believes that the core of a successful company is its team and leadership. Nerudia’s vision and strategy were what attracted him to re-join forces with another great team assembled by Chris and David.
Andy joined Nerudia in January 2016 as Chief Commercial Officer, bringing a wealth of senior level commercial and selling experience to the role.
For the last 12 years he has run his own consultancy business, working with a huge variety of mainly FMCG clients on project work and in senior commercial roles across many categories. Andy’s experience at Nicoventures, selling into the UK’s major retailers and pharmacies, ideally places Nerudia to help and advise its customers; especially on the approach to listing with major retailers and in particular their quality expectations in this relatively new category.
Andy is responsible for the commercial strategy of Nerudia. His vision is for the company to be recognised globally as the go-to partner for the nicotine products industry, offering an end to end business solution from production through compliance to future innovation.
